SACRAMENTO – Senator Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) issued the following statement in response to Governor Brown’s State of the State address today:

“I am hopeful that the Governor’s address today opens the door to a more positive tone toward partnering with Washington. After all, our federal government plays a significant role in all our lives, including our state budget.

“I have offered Governor Brown my help in bridging the gap between Sacramento and our federal partners to help our state succeed. Working with Washington should emulate the bipartisan successes we have had in our state. For instance, California Republicans and Democrats worked together on the water bond, rainy day fund, and workers’ compensation reform.

“We have the opportunity to work with Majority Leader McCarthy and California Republican federal policymakers, many of whom I have closely in the past. In particular, we can work constructively with Washington to improve our health care and infrastructure,” said Senator Fuller.
